    a- In the 1950s, when a huge number of West Indian immigrants came to London, they brought their tradition and music. (preterit/ action passée terminée)

    b- Faced with racism, unemployment and poor housing conditions, those immigrants dreamed of having a festival that would bring together the people from the Notting Hill area. (preterit)

    c- So dances and other musical event were organised in North London. (preterit de la voix passive)

    d- In 1964, the first Street festival took place in Notting Hill.

    e- It was a great success, so the parade has taken place ever since attracting ...

    f- The Notting Hill Carnival .... It has become a true multicultural event and has attracted more and more spectatorss over the years
