On Sunday June 21, 1908, the "suffragettes" demonstrated somewhat agitatedly in Hyde Park, London.

 Despite their determination and their number, around 250 000, the demonstrators failed to advance their demand: the right to vote for British and European women.  They will not come to an end until after the First World War, in stages.
