The research area "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) attempts to simulate human perception and human action through machines. What once began as the science of computer programming has increasingly evolved into the study of human thought. In short Artificial intelligence (AI) deals with methods that allow a computer to solve such tasks that require intelligence when they are solved by man.

We may wonder what the pros and cons of Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be.

On the one hand we get though the pros of AI:

Artificial intelligence (AI), including self-learning computers, accompanies people today in very many life situations. Language assistants help with purchasing and play the desired music titles. Household robots make everyday life easier, and cars park themselves.

Smart Living has arrived in everyday life. The most popular applications are networked entertainment, smart lighting, smart heating control and the smart kitchen. “Smart Living also offers enormous advantages for older people," says Michael Schidlack, spokesperson for the Smart Living business initiative.

For example, artificial intelligence can be used to monitor the breathing air of a person suffering from diabetes, as well as to trigger the alarm and the emergency chain if necessary. With a view to demographic change, AI also enables people to live in their own homes, even in their old age. Using artificial intelligence, it is also possible to use energy efficiently in one’s own building and to stabilize the power grid automatically.

Britta Wrede: We’ve heard a lot about where robots can work. Now we want to get even more into this with an expert immediately afterwards. But before we do, maybe we’ll listen again to what students think about where robots can be used:

After all, robots have already been widely used in the industry to produce any finished parts. And a new market that opens up there is, of course, care.

In medicine, I don’t think this is very applicable, because I think the human eye and the human body are better suited than a robot to perform certain operations, for example.

On the other hand, let's try to get through the AI cons.

First AI can be an addiction. As we rely on machines to make everyday tasks more efficient, we risk technology addiction.

Then AI can lead to a lack of Personal Connections: While smart machines improve the education experience, they should not be considered as a substitute for personal interaction. Relying too much on these machines to grade or tutor may lead to educational oversights that hurt learners more than help students.

AI can affect employment. AI is leading to unemployment. Let's refer to education. Making teaching more efficient could create less of a demand for educators. With the advent of a massive open online courses (MOOCs), class size is no longer as much of a determining factor in quality education, and even at the kindergarten level, the implementation of AI may mean a decrease in teaching aids and assistants.

Furthermore, what about efficient? Computers are getting smarter every day. They are demonstrating not only an ability to learn, but to teach other computers. However, it is debatable whether they can implement intuition-based decision making in new situations, which often arises in the classroom.

Finally, any kind of computer may affect users in losing information. When loss of information occurs and an AI needs repairs, how much information will be lost?
